Southpaw super featherweight (130 pounds) Diego Magdaleno scored his sixth career knockout and his third straight stoppage after Marcos Leonardo Jimenez of the Dominican Republic failed to come off of his stool for the sixth round of Saturday night's bout at the Texas Station Casino in Magdaleno's home town of Las Vegas in a Top Rank Promotions show. In victory, the 24-year-old Magdaleno rose to 18-0, while the 26-year-old Jiminez slipped to 18--3, with 12 knockouts.
In an under card bout, featherweight (126 pounds) Robert Marroquin of Dallas, Tex., scored a fourth-round knockout of Mexico's Eduardo Arcos.
Marroquin improved to 18-0 with his 14th knockout, this, following November's first-round stoppage over Francisco Dominguez. In defeat, Arcos dropped to 16-3-1, with 13 knockouts.
Also, Magdaleno's 19-year-old brother, featherweight Jesse Magdaleno, came up with his second knockout in as many victories without a loss when he stopped Cain Garcia in the third round.
