San Bernardino, Calif., police arrested Glocc (birth name: Lawrence White) after finding a loaded 9-millimeter handgun in his Range Rover. Glocc, who's said to be a member of the Colton City Crips gang, was parked one block from an apartment complex from which he had been banned in 2008.
Glocc has denied his alleged gang membership. He's even told reporters that he goes by the misspelling of Glocc in order to avoid using the letters CK, which in street parlance can stand for "Crip killer."
Before now, 40 Glocc was mostly known for his beef with Lil Wayne, which started in 2008. Glocc accused Weezy of faking his gangster cred, saying that Wayne "started gang-bangin' at twenty-somethin'," meaning he hadn't been immersed long enough to know what he was talking about.
In an infamous video clip, 40 Glocc confronted an entourage that was purportedly Lil Wayne's. (Video NSFW.)
Later, 40 Glocc gave an interview about the episode. (More NSFW video.)
Lil Wayne, of course, was recently released from prison after serving eight months at Rikers Island penitentiary after being convicted of his own gun charge.
Glocc has also swapped dis tracks with rapper Plies, going so far as to sample an audio clip of a woman claiming to be Plies' grandmother. Once again, the source of the beef appears to have been claims about street cred.
Here's a music video for a track 40 Glocc released on a 2007 mix tape, "That New N***a." Again, NSFW:

And in case you're wondering, police in San Bernardino have not said if the gun they found in Glocc's SUV was a Glock or not.
