The parents of Christina Green, the youngest victim of the Tucson, Ariz., shootings, were invited to Washington, D.C., to attend President Barack Obama's State of the Union address tonight.

Honored in the president's speech, John and Roxanna Green came into the public eye after the horrific events of Jan. 8 and have since granted a few interviews about the anguish of losing their youngest child in the rampage that shocked the nation.

Surge Desk offers the following facts about the Greens.

1. They donated Christina's organs
Christina's organs saved a Boston girl's life and her corneas saved the eyesight of two other children. "The fact that her organs were able to help people, that was an amazing thing to me," John Green said. "It's just another thing that this little girl has given the world."

2. John had just helped a fellow scout in need
John works as the Los Angeles Dodgers' national cross-checker scout and had "arranged a charity silent auction for a fellow scout in need just weeks ago," according to ESPN's Buster Olney. The Dodgers have created a memorial fund for Christina.

3. They moved to Tucson for family needs
John and Roxanna moved to Tucson to care for Roxanna's aging mother, who has since passed away.

4. John supports capital punishment
In an interview on CBS' "Early Show," the Greens spoke about what they would like to see happen to Jared Loughner, the alleged gunman and primary suspect in the shootings. John said, "My wife is very forgiving in that regard. I'm a little about the Old West. It's a fairly clear-cut case, and I'm a fan of capital punishment in this regard."

5. Roxanna is a registered nurse
Roxanna Segalini, now Roxanna Green, grew up in the Bronx and Scarsdale, N.Y., and is a 45-year-old registered nurse and stay-at-home mother to the Greens' sole surviving son, 11-year-old Dallas.
