CMLL superstar Mistico has decided to leave the promotion and has agreed to a deal with WWE according to Super Luchas magazine.Mistico has been the top star for the Mexican promotion for the past five years. He became such a fan favorite that he starred in various television commercials and even had a comic book made about him.
His last match for CMLL in Arena Mexico was Jan. 18.
WWE had been in discussions with Mistico last year and even brought him in for a tryout match where he impressed management. However, the two sides could not work out a deal at that time.
The Luchablog website, a well-known site that covers Lucha wrestling, believes that Mistico will likely report to Florida Championship Wrestling and train there before getting the call-up to the main WWE roster.
Mistico will be following in the footsteps of Alberto Del Rio, who is getting a huge push and becoming a big star in WWE. Prior to joining WWE, Del Rio worked in CMLL as Dos Caras, Jr.
Mistico is a huge signing for WWE when it comes to adding another star to attract its Hispanic demographic.
