Nashville Predators' forward Jordin Tootoo has been cleared by the NHL and the NHLPA to practice with the team after completing the first part of his rehabilitation process in the Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program.

Although the forward has been cleared to practice with the Predators, he has not yet been cleared to play in games or travel with the team on the road.

Tootoo, who continues to be monitored and receive outpatient treatment, voluntarily checked himself into an in-care program on December 27, 2010.

Drafted in the fourth round of the 2001 draft by Nashville, he has played all seven seasons in the league with the team. The hard-hitting forward, known for his scrappy and aggressive play, has recorded four goals, six assists and 47 PIM in 32 games this season.
