World No. 1 Rafael Nadal will need approximately 10 days to recover from the leg injury he suffered during his quarterfinal loss to compatriot David Ferrer at the Australian Open. Nadal's website reported that his MRI and ultrasound discovered an "adductor longus rupture of the right leg." Although the report on his website read the injury occurred to his right leg, Nadal was originally treated for a left leg injury during the match.
His website also noted that he will be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, along with physical therapy. Doctors reportedly believe he should be recovered around Feb. 10.
The top-ranked Nadal is expected to be healthy for Spain's first-round Davis Cup tie, and the season's first two Masters events at Indian Wells and Miami, which start March 10 and March 23, respectively.
