It was a big weekend for the former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Deion Sanders. He got in the Pro Football Hall of Fame for being a great football player. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, but his performance off the field makes you wonder about his judgment.

He was part of the Dez Bryant fiasco and cost Bryant half his season. The NCAA eventually said Sanders did nothing wrong, but Oklahoma State will debate that issue over and over.

Sanders talked with Bryant about Sanders' friend and NFL agent, Eugene Parker. Bryant denied it. Then he admitted it. The NCAA came down hard on Bryant for not being truthful about dealing with an agent and he was suspended.

Later, Bryant signed with Parker. It appeared Sanders was Parker's runner.

You also have to question Sanders' for sneaking up behind baseball analyst Tim McCarver and dumped a bucket of Gatorade on McCarver. The former catcher criticized Sanders for playing a football game on a Sunday afternoon and then trying to play a baseball game that night for the Braves.

Sanders then went back at McCarver with another cooler of ice. A real man.

Sanders advised San Francisco wideout Michael Crabtree to hold out and it caused plenty of bitterness on the 49ers. Crabtree has still not emerged as an NFL receiver.

Sanders tried to adopt the West Virginia running back Noel Devine and created another firestorm. The NCAA asked questions about that, too.

Sanders' credentials for the Hall of Fame cannot be questioned. We shouldn't forget, though, that he has some credentials for the Hall of Shame, too.
