But police in Ohio say a man with the word "Genius" tattooed across his forehead allegedly did just that, using a handgun to repeatedly strike a pregnant woman in the head late last month.
Jerome Smith, 27, had only been out of prison for only two and a half months when the Cincinnati man was arrested on felonious assault charges, according to News.Cincinnati.com.
The suspect with the part-cursive face tattoo has already been incarcerated twice -- once for five and a half years after being convicted of attempted murder, possession of drugs and burglary in 2003, and more recently for selling heroin.
Court documents obtained by TheSmokingGun.com accuse Smith of knowingly attempting to cause "physical harm" to Tiera Bryant, who is eight months pregnant.
In a hearing Wednesday, Bryant reportedly asked the judge to drop the charges against Smith because police didn't witness the incident, but prosecutors insist they have a witness.
