Packers Sign Nine Players to Futures Contracts on Thursday
In a sense, that's what you'd expect: These are hard-working, driven men who became champions for a reason. It's not surprising that they're buckling down and looking ahead, rather than heading down to the Caribbean or something.
On the other hand, it's a little sad: Doesn't there ever come a time when these guys just get to sit back, relax, and enjoy winning the Super Bowl?
In any event, the Packers' offseason work Thursday included the signing of nine players to futures contracts on Thursday: guard Adrian Battles, tackle Chris Campbell, safety Michael Greco, linebacker Cardia Jackson, safety Anthony Levine, wide receiver Antonio Robinson, defensive tackle Jay Ross, wide receiver Chastin West and linebacker/defensive end Albert Young.
That represents the Packers' entire eight-man practice squad, plus Levine, who was out of work until the Packers picked him up.
