Earl Spencer, 46, announced his engagement to Karen Gordon, founder of the charity Whole Child International, the BBC said. A spokesman for the earl said the couple would have a "private wedding" June 18 at Althorp, the Spencer family estate in central England, where Diana is buried.

The wedding will be held eight weeks after William, 28, marries Kate Middleton, 29, at Westminster Abbey.

Gordon, a Canadian, was previously married to Hollywood producer Mark Gordon ("Saving Private Ryan," TV's "Grey's Anatomy") and has two daughters, the Daily Mail said.

Spencer has four children with his first wife, former model Victoria Lockwood, and two with his second, Caroline Freud. He became engaged to Bianca, Lady Eliot, last year but the couple split some months later, the Mail said.

The earl, whose first name is Charles, inherited his title in 1992, on the death of his father. He is best known for delivering at his sister's 1997 funeral an impassioned eulogy that was widely seen as a public slap of the royal family.
