Will you ... help me get this ring out of the sewer?

It's not how John Iverson intended to propose to his girlfriend, but it's what the Colorado man was forced to ask when he fumbled the wedding ring moments after getting engaged on Valentine's Day.

Iverson managed to pop the question and give his fiancee a diamond engagement ring. But moments after she said yes, he accidentally dropped the wedding band that went with it in downtown Denver at around 9 p.m., 9News reports.

The ring fell into grate and landed in the sewer.

"I was overjoyed by the fact that she said yes, so the fact that the ring went in there -- I was upset, but I was still happy," he told the station.

Denver firefighters spent 45 minutes looking in the sewer before they found the ring and gave it back to the couple.

Last year, city workers miraculously found an engagement ring a man accidentally dropped while proposing to his girlfriend on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.
