CNN and MSNBC were both reporting this morning that all four Americans aboard a yacht hijacked by Somali pirates had been killed. CNN said the hostages were shot during negotiations for their release.

The yacht was owned by Jean and Scott Adam. Also on board were Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle. They had been traveling with yachts participating in the Blue Water Rally since their departure from Phuket, Thailand, rally organizers said Sunday.

A U.S. Navy warship and helicopters were trailing a boat believed to be the one that was hijacked by Somali pirates, a senior military official said Monday.
