Former NABF and NABO middleweight (160 pounds) champion Daniel Jacobs of Brooklyn, who scored December's fifth-round knockout over Jesse Orta at the Pepsi Colesium in Quebec City, Canada, will be trained by five-time Trainer of the Year, Freddie Roach.
In victory over Orta, Jacobs rose to 21-0, with his 18th knockout, this, after, himself, having been stopped in the fifth-round of an HBO televised, July loss to Dmitry Pirog (17-0, 14 KOs) of Russia during his failed bid to earn the vacant WBO belt at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, Jacobs is glad to be associated with Roach.
