I've never been a big fan of Jeff Green from a fantasy perspective. He's a player who has a ton of talent, yet hasn't been able to take his game to that next level we all expected him to. Over his first three years in the league, his numbers have remained stagnant. Really, he hasn't shown signs of becoming anything more than Luol Deng-lite. That's not a bad thing, but fantasy owners know that his name exceeds his value. Green now moves to Boston where he'll come off the bench behind Paul Pierce.
The aging Celtics could use a young wing like Green, but even down the stretch his minutes are going to be limited to about 25-28 per game. For someone who has averaged 37 minutes per game over his career, that's a pretty steep drop.
I would keep Green rostered and not drop him at this point, but if you see his minutes dip below 25 per game, weekly league owners might want to start thinking about sitting him.
On the other side of the Green deal, the Celtics sent Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson to Oklahoma City. In this deal, I really like Perkins as a fantasy contributor, especially as he was just starting to return to his pre-injury value before he was traded away.
Perkins should start at center for the Thunder alongside Serge Ibaka. Yes, Ibaka might hurt Perkins' value off the glass, but not enough to where you should be concerned. It's also not worth worrying yourself about Nazr Mohammed. He was added in a separate deal to beef up the team's front-line. Expect him to approach a nightly double-double with 1-plus blocks per game.
Nate Robinson won't have much standard-league value. He'll come off the bench behind guys like James Harden and Eric Maynor at either guard position. I'd leave him be.
