After CBS decided to cancel the remainder of the season for its hit comedy "Two and a Half Men" over the ongoing behavioral problems of its primary star, Charlie Sheen, fans of the show headed to Twitter to join in the collective finger wagging.
Sheen -- whose bizarre, conspiracy-theory-laced outburst on the Alex Jones radio show as well as an interview with TMZ proved the final straws -- has seemingly solidified his cultural role as punch line and punching bag. Surge Desk has a sampling of the abuse being doled out in the microblogging universe, as well as some of the praise being lavished on Sheen's co-star, Jon Cryer.
As Surge Desk noticed earlier today, some on Twitter were making comparisons between Sheen's outbursts and another speech given earlier this week.
Does anyone else think that Charlie Sheen and Gadhafi seem to be ranting in similar fashion? A little disconnected from the real world?
I'm not sure who had a more delusional statement released this week, Gaddafi or Charlie Sheen.
For many Tweeps, there was hope that the show would go on without Sheen.
Here's hoping 2-1/2 Men carries on sans psyco Charlie Sheen. John Cryer can carry it!
CBS should give John Cryer his own spinoff show to give Sheen a giant middle finger salute
With The Charlie Sheen troubles America wishes the producers will do a spin off with John Cryer, and jake, and the maid, and mom,we would watch
Others were wondering why it took so long for the show's producers to come to the fateful decision to cancel the show.
So Charlie Sheen can kidnap hookers and almost kill his wife - Fine. Insult the creator of "Two and a Half Men" - WE"RE SHUTTING IT DOWN!
Still, some were left to imagine a next, if not unlikely, career step for Sheen.
I think the Oscars should scrap James Franco & Anne Hathaway as hosts - let Charlie Sheen do it!!!! #trainwreck
