"I have a feeling my career's just peaked."

So said Colin Firth, as only an Englishman could, upon winning the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 2011 Oscars. The 50-year-old nabbed the top honor Sunday night for his portrayal of the stammering King George VI in "The King's Speech."

The famous royal may have had problems speaking, but Firth had no such difficulties as he gave a touching and humorous speech up at the podium.

"I'm afraid I have to warn you that I'm experiencing stirrings somewhere in the upper abdominals which are threatening to form themselves into dance moves," the thespian revealed. "Joyous as they may be for me, it would be extremely problematic if they make it to my legs before I get offstage."

Hah!

Watch more of Firth's speech, below.

The night had plenty of other highlights, such as Kirk Douglas' sweet presentation of the Best Supporting Actress award (which went to "The Fighter" star Melissa Leo, who made some headlines for dropping the F-bomb in her acceptance speech). And Oscar hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway, in Surge Desk's humble opinion, had some great moments too!
