Luke McCown Returning to Jaguars
McCown, the Jaguars' backup quarterback the past two seasons, re-signed with the team on Monday, the team announced. Duration and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
McCown had been scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
McCown, an eight-year NFL veteran, had played with Cleveland and Tampa Bay before being acquired by the Jaguars in a trade with the Buccaneers in September 2009.
He was a fourth-round draft selection by the Browns in 2004.
McCown has started four games for Jacksonville, and has thrown nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 16 career games. McCown played against San Diego this past season in Week 2, completing 11 of 19 passes for 120 yards before a season-ending knee injury.
