But her boyfriend, Matthew D. Rutler, may have had it worse. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Aguilera's been getting a lot of attention for her relationship with the man she met on the set of her flop "Burlesque." So who is he? Here's what Surge Desk has learned.
A production assistant
Rutler has been working the low rungs of the Hollywood ladder since 2009 and has been a production assistant or set assistant on such films as "Grown Ups," "The Social Network" and, of course, "Burlesque."
A music lover
Perhaps Rutler and Aguilera bonded over a shared passion for music, though Aguilera's certainly had more commercial success. Rutler is a guitarist in the Nate Mott Band, an unsigned group labeled "alternative" on iTunes. According to iTunes, fans of the Nate Mott Band tend to like O.A.R., John Mayer and Vampire Weekend. Watch the video for their song "Say It."
But has his role as Mr. Aguilera forced Rutler to shirk his Nate Mott Band responsibilities? He missed some shows in December for "personal reasons."
A Rhode Island native
Rutler grew up in Rhode Island, where the Nate Mott Band was formed, and graduated from Roger Williams University, where he studied business and music.
