Steve Jobs Takes the Stage at iPad 2 Unveiling
Steve Jobs took to the stage at Apple's grand unveiling of the new iPad 2 today, looking skinny but no worse since announcing he was taking a leave of absence from the company as he continues to battle pancreatic cancer.
Jobs was last seen in public Feb. 18 at a much-publicized dinner with President Barack Obama, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and a table full of tech-world luminaries. For weeks, speculation had swirled as to whether Jobs would attend the iPad 2 launch.
Receiving a rousing standing ovation from the crowd assembled at the Apple iPad 2 event today, Jobs seemed to relish proving the doubters wrong.
"We've been working on this product for a while, and I didn't want to miss it," he said.
Jobs then went on to do what Jobs does best, pointing out how wildly successful the company has been to date, while whetting appetites even further for the product about to be unveiled.
