Charlie Sheen may soon be heading to Haiti to help fellow actor and friend Sean Penn with his relief efforts, according to Access Hollywood.
Penn, who has been a vocal supporter of Sheen's since the "Two and a Half Men" star found himself out of work over a series of inflammatory interviews, has been in charge of humanitarian relief efforts in the wake of Haiti's devastating earthquake in January 2010.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Sheen said the following of his plans to travel with Penn to Haiti:
"We're going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we're heading down [to Haiti]," Sheen said. "And I'm excited as hell because, you know, if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting."
Earlier in the day, TMZ reported that Sheen's former wife, Denise Richards, is "disgusted" by Sheen's behavior and thinks he poses some risk to the former couple's two daughters.
Meanwhile, Sheen's Twitter feed, which Thursday set a Guinness record mark for fastest rise to 1 million followers, has continued to grow. As of this writing, Sheen has 1,618,000 Twitter followers.
