7 Sarah Palin Family Jokes, as Told by Kathy Griffin [VIDEOS]

In a weekend interview on Fox News, Sarah Palin finally responded to comedian Kathy Griffin, who has mined the Palin family for material since they landed on the national stage in 2008.

Griffin is preparing for an upcoming guest spot on "Glee," in a role that's reportedly based loosely on Palin. The former governor's take? "She's a 50-year-old adult bully," Palin said, "kind of a has-been comedienne."

And, in case you missed any of the cracks, here's a brief rundown of Griffin's jokes at the Palin family's expense.

1. On owing Sarah Palin "a muffin basket"
In 2008 Griffin told Larry King that Palin "is just heaven on a stick," because she has provided so much fodder for jokes. "I really do owe her a muffin basket," she said.

2. On women in politics
Appearing on "The Late Show With David Letterman" in 2009, Griffin dubbed Palin a "moron," adding, "I want there to be a female vice president, but I'm not that hard up ... and the husband seems like a tool."

3. On why John McCain picked Palin as his running mate
In a 2010 stand-up routine, Griffin remarked: "[Palin] was so famous as governor, you know, when John McCain picked her after meeting her for 10 minutes. That must have been some b*** job."

4. On her relationship with Levi Johnston, part one
In a move that garnered plenty of media attention (that was the point, of course), Griffin appeared at the 2009 MTV Teen Choice Awards with Levi Johnston on her arm. In 2010 she traveled to Alaska with Johnston to shoot an episode of "My Life on the D-List" and filmed a stand-up performance in Anchorage, complete with plenty of anti-Palin barbs.

5. On her relationship with Levi Johnston, part two
Finally, she made a tearful video when Johnston and Bristol Palin announced their engagement in July 2010.

6. On Bristol Palin's weight
Griffin was booed by troops in California during the December taping of "VH1 Divas: Salute the Troops" when she took shots at Bristol Palin. Griffin called Palin, a "Dancing With the Stars" contestant, "the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight. ... She's like the white Precious."

7. On her next target, Willow Palin
At the start of 2011 Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter that she had a new resolution: to mock 16-year-old Willow Palin. "I've already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol, obviously," she said. "But I think it's Willow's year to go down."
