Charlie Sheen Wins Big in Cleveland

CLEVELAND -- The audience helped Charlie Sheen prove he is truly a "Rock Star From Mars" in Cleveland on Tuesday night. The sold-out crowd at Playhouse Square's 3,200-seat State Theatre greeted the former "Two and a Half Men" star with Jerry Springer-like chants of "Winning" and bid him farewell with a standing ovation.

The third stop on Sheen's "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option" tour began with Sheen running down the aisle toward the stage amid a screaming crowd as a guitar rendition of "Wild Thing" blasted out of the sound system.

"People, that was better than coming out of the bullpen in 'Major League.' Thank you," Sheen said, referring to his starring role in the 1989 comedy film about a fictionalized version of the Cleveland Indians baseball team.

Several of Sheen's recent catchphrases, including "Winning" and "Tiger blood," were fan favorites, with each of them shouted dozens of times throughout the 90-minute show.

"Winning: You just feel better when you say it," Sheen explained. "Where did that come from? I just got tired of -- well, I shouldn't say losing -- being told that I was losing. They basically took everything away, and I said, 'F--- you! I'm still winning.'"

Sheen asked, "Is your tiger blood boiling tonight? Is your Adonis DNA pulsating?"

The performance was a far cry from Saturday's kickoff show in Detroit, where Sheen was heckled and booed off the stage. Adding salt to his wounds were headlines proclaiming his failure: TMZ declared "Charlie Sheen -- Bombed in Detroit"; The Hollywood Reporter decreed "Charlie Sheen Show Opens to Boos, Walk-Outs in Detroit"; and countless other front-page headlines referred to the show as a disastrous and possibly a career-ending affair.

After the Detroit fiasco, the 45-year-old actor averted a similar disaster the following night in Chicago, when he revamped the entire show and opted for a format that involved the introduction of an on-stage Q&A with his tour co-producer.

As the show rolled into Cleveland, Sheen called the show a learning process. He is, after all, an actor more than a standup comedian or stage performer.

"Without Detroit we don't have the show that we have right now," Sheen said, adding, "Because of Detroit, we've now got gold."

Sheen touched on the Chicago show and said there were some things he wanted to "clear up" about former wives Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller.

"I said a couple of things, I stated some facts, and the media got it wrong," he said. "Shocker. It's a shocker. I didn't call Denise a kidnapper. Brooke is the f------ kidnapper. I called Denise a dognapper."

The media, Sheen said, also misreported his involvement with former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss and falsely quoted him as saying he owed her $2 million. "That's absurd," he said. "I said I paid her $2 million. Get it right, people."

Sheen, who chain-smoked during much of the show, briefly introduced his "goddesses," live-in girlfriends Natalie Kenley and Rachel Oberlin, and got a welcome reaction to a marriage quip tailored for the Cleveland crowd.

"Yeah, [I've been] married three times," Sheen said. "The thing that bothered me the most about it is every time -- all three times -- there was this hope for richer or poorer, in sickness and in heath ... and it all went to s---. It's got to be how you people feel about LeBron James."

Sheen also joked that he is being stalked by Miley Cyrus. The 18-year-old Disney star recently rejoined Twitter and tweeted: "I came back to twitter for 2 reasons. My fans and to follow @charliesheen."

"Apparently Miley got back on Twitter and now she's following me," Sheen said. "What the f--- does that mean? Did she follow me to Cleveland? Is Miley Cyrus in the house? Stand up, Miley," Sheen said as he looked out into the audience.

Following a brief intermission, Sheen's tour co-producer asked the audience, "How many 'Two and a Half Men' fans are here?" The audience roared, and Sheen took over at the microphone.

"Do I want to be back on it? Well, f--- yeah I do. I'm not a complete idiot," Sheen said. "I think what everybody needs to understand is ... all they've got to do is hire me back. ... I made them $5 billion, and I got fired. Imagine if I had made them $10 billion -- they would have murdered me."

Sheen said the show's creator, Chuck Lorre, "still hasn't returned my call." He encouraged fans of the show to "write to these people. Tell them they must have me back."

And what of the self-professed warlock's alleged magical powers?

"I have been able to spin magic the past couple of weeks," Sheen said. "You guys all bought tickets without knowing a damn thing about this show."

While actual magic is debatable, Sheen's media blitz has resulted in not only sold-out shows but also a merchandising blitz. Everything from $15 coffee mugs to $120 "Charlie Sheen Winning" jerseys were for sale at the Cleveland event, and the items were flying off the shelves.

At the end of Tuesday's show, Sheen made a triumphant exit as a packed house gave him a standing ovation.

"Cleveland do you feel like you are winning?" Sheen said. "I love you all. Good night!"
