"This morning I walked the dog and found a dollar and thought, 'I guess this might be our lucky day,' " the Columbus, Ohio, resident told TV station WBNS.
By day's end, the Loomis family was $151,000 richer.
When lottery officials told him he'd won, David thought the big prize was a hat and a mug. He started crying when he learned he'd won $150,000.
The Loomis family will spend the money on bills and possibly put the rest toward a house.
