A security video captured the men's futile mission, in which they battered at display cases at a Zales jewelry store in Honolulu, and eventually gave up and retreated.
The attack happened around 8:40 last Saturday night. The men escaped, but a witness noted the license plate number on their getaway car. The car was later determined to have been stolen and was found hours later abandoned and engulfed in flames.
Honolulu police are asking the public for help in finding the suspects and published descriptions of them on a crime-stoppers website.
