Joe Arpaio, the Arizona sheriff known for serving inmates green baloney and his staunch stance against illegal immigration, has instituted a "Mugshot of the Day" contest on the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office website, The Arizona Republic reports.
According to the site, visitors can peruse all the mugshots from the day's arrests and then vote on their favorite.

The top three contenders for "Mugshot of the Day" on the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office website are, from left, Benjamin Luna, Alfred John Shepard and Carl Duane Robbins.
According to ABC News Radio, Arpaio believes that the increased site traffic will help people recognize the work of his employees and potentially aid future criminal investigations. He also sees the project as educational by granting visitors exposure to different aspects of the law.
