Mary Vilett is dying of lung cancer. As her family members prepare to say goodbye to their wife and mother, they are filling her last days with pomp, circumstance, wedding bells and love.

They gathered at Vilett's bedside at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Thursday to celebrate a wedding and graduation, all in the span of two hours.

Vilett and husband Rory honored more than 20 years of marriage and the results -- six children and seven grandchildren -- by renewing their vows.

"It was heart-wrenching, knowing that she's at the end of her journey and that we're going to have to go on without her, but to know that she knew, and I knew that the love was deep enough to last," Rory told WJXT-TV.

After the ceremony, the seniors of Parsons Christian Academy moved to the forefront, decked out in their dark green caps and gowns. With his mother watching, and living out her dying wish, Blake received his diploma.

"She deserved it more than me because she's the one that made it happen," Blake said.
