Patrick Roche, an 80-year-old grocer, and his wife, Barbara, have donated $20 million to a center at Boston College that is attempting to revitalize the nation’s Catholic schools. Roche says Catholic schools provided a lifeline to his family after the death of his mother when he was 9.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, General Electric will donate $10 million to the The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, along with an additional $5 million in scholarships. The donations will be joined by TV ads honoring the 40th president's legacy.
