(Dec. 1) -- Club promoter Rachel Uchitel says she met Tiger Woods, as she meets so many celebrities, when he came to the New York club where she worked. That's as far as their relationship went, she told the New York Post in a story published Tuesday, as she forcefully denied a tabloid report that she and the world's most famous golfer had an affair.
"I work in clubs and I am a businesswoman," she told the newspaper. "I do not have sex with celebrities, and I have not had an affair with Tiger Woods.

"I've only met him twice," she said. "I have never spoken on the phone with Tiger Woods, or texted him, ever."
She says the source of the rumors is a person she did not consider a friend even before the story ran in the National Enquirer. Uchitel's alleged link to the sportsman has been the target of increased speculation since Woods drove his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree Friday before dawn. Woods and his family remain mum about the cause of the incident, fueling the rumor mill.
The Post runs Uchitel's comments, much of it uninterrupted quotes paragraphs long, over four pages online.
Uchitel's mother Susan defended her daughter to ABC News, noting that the 34-year-old was a news producer for Bloomberg until her fiance died in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
"Her friends opened a nightclub in Las Vegas and invited her to join them," her mother said, explaining how her daughter's new career began.
Uchitel was also recently linked to married actor David Boreanaz. She declined to comment on that to the Post, calling that "a whole different ballgame."
