(Nov. 11) -- A Facebook message saved Rodney Bradford from possible criminal charges, according to The New York Times.
Bradford, 19, was arrested on Oct. 18 as a robbery suspect in New York.
But his attorney told the prosecution that Bradford couldn't have committed the crime, since he had posted a comment about craving pancakes on his Facebook account from a computer in his father's Harlem apartment at the time of the robbery.
The prosecutor's office subpoenaed records from the social media company and authenticated Bradford's alibi, the paper reported.
An expert on social media and the law told the Times, "This is the first case that I'm aware of in which a Facebook update has been used as alibi evidence."
