More than 57,000 copies of "Female Force: Michelle Obama" have sold since the comic's spring release, according to Bluewater Productions. That's more than most Marvel or DC Comic titles, the Daily News notes.
While it's no "Captain America Reborn," which sold more than 108,000 copies in September alone, according to the Comic Book Resources listing, Michelle Obama's title is still hailed a success.
In late April, shortly after the comic was released, Bluewater Publisher Darren G. Davis told The Christian Science Monitor that sales "exceeded our aggressive projections."
Her comic is one in a series profiling leading American women, including Barbara Walters and Sarah Palin.
The comic details the first lady's life, from her ancestors who were slaves to her own success. She is credited with being a key to her husband's political success, says the Daily News.
Michelle Obama isn't the only White House occupant immortalized in pen and ink. Her husband stars in his own title, and Bo, the family dog, romps through "Bo Obama: The White House Tails."
