(Nov. 24) -- An unclaimed lottery ticket worth $1 million will soon expire unless the winner comes forward to claim the prize.
According to CNN, the ticket was purchased on Aug. 26 at a Mobil gas station on Highway 41 in Racine County, Wis., but so far no one has stepped forward to cash in the winnings.
Taxpayers in Wisconsin could stand to gain if the person does not claim the money in the next three months, as state law stipulates that unclaimed winnings would go toward property tax relief, CNN reported.

In the 21 years of the Wisconsin lottery, only one other ticket has gone unclaimed, a lottery representative told CNN.
The gas station attendant who sold the ticket believes the winner had come from a nearby car auction lot. The purchaser chose four of five Powerball numbers correctly.
