ZURICH (Sept. 28) - Imprisoned director Roman Polanski is in a "fighting mood" and will battle U.S. attempts to have him extradited from Switzerland to face justice in California for having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl, his lawyer said Monday.

As the United States launches what could be a lengthy process to extradite Roman Polanksi from Switzerland, France and Poland press American officials, even Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to get the film director released on bail. Polanksi was arrested in Zurich on Saturday -- more than 30 years after he fled the U.S. for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.\n\n
