Bengals Shockingly Release Brian Simmons

By JD ArneyFeb 28th 2007 – 8:57PM

I'm seriously stunned, did not see this coming at all:Simmons, 31, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Bengals, who made him a first-round draft pick in 1998. He had two years left on his contract for $7 million. Coach Marvin Lewis said the decision came down to the money. "This was not an easy decision to...

Kelley Washington To IR And Other Injury Notes

By JD ArneyDec 15th 2006 – 6:09PM

I've been holding out hope that Kelley Washington would make a healthy return for weeks now, but it looks like that's not in the cards. He was placed on injured reserve today, and the Bengals signed Skyler Green off of waivers. Green was Dallas' fourth round pick back in April, and he appeared in two games for the Cowboys....

By JD ArneyDec 5th 2006 – 4:27PM

Mark Curnutte reported on Monday that Bobbie Williams, out with appendicitis, should be back this Sunday against the Raiders. Stacy Andrews has been Williams replacement, and he's done an excellent job of it, but having Williams back is certainly a good thing. He participated in practice yesterday, so it seems as if it's a...

The Bengals pretty much have the longest injury list in the NFL at this point. Here's what we've got headed into tomorrow's game against the Browns.Chris Henry is probable with a hip flexor. P.K. Yonge's Justin Landers has pitched on big stages before.

But Thursday night was special for the senior.

It was his last time playing in the District 3-3A championship game, and the left-hander made it count.

He threw a one-hit shutout and struck out seven batters to lead the Blue Wave to a 10-0 victory over St. Francis, their second district title in three years.

"He completely dominated," P.K. Yonge coach Brian Simmons said.
