Two houses demolished for code violations

The city has two fewer houses.
A house at 33 Briggs Ave. came down Wednesday.
A house at 102 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. fell to a bulldozer Friday.
That's just the beginning, said Clifton Smith, the Lake Wales building official.
"We want to let the public know we will take action on property if it's not cleaned up," he said.
Smith said between 15 and 20 have deteriorated to the point that they need to be demolished.
Tearing down the two that came down this week didn't cost the city anything, he said.
