Chris Kaman, Eric Gordon Sidelined Until After the All-Star Break
There were rumblings, as there often are, about Chris Kaman returning to the lineup for the Clippers by the end of this week. Then we heard his return was pushed back until sometime next week, and now we're finally getting word that Kaman will be out until after the All-Star break. Kaman, who has played just twice since...
Blake Griffin Gets by at MSG With Help From His Clippers Friends
NEW YORK -- The press room at Madison Square Garden was running out of chicken before Wednesday's New York Knicks-Los Angeles Clippers game. One of the servers said they didn't expect this many people. When Clippers star forward Blake Griffin comes to town, any number of media folk should be expected. What shouldn't be...
The Works: Looking for the NBA's Best Scorer
Today in The Works: We mock-draft the best scorers in the NBA. Enjoy! Nothing But Net Bethlehem Shoals: Scoring, we have been told, is often fool's gold. Points are only as good as the percentages behind them. Three rebounds are better than two points. Still, it's hard to win games without points, and every team needs...
Eric Gordon Out 3-4 Weeks With Wrist Fracture; Blake Griffin Injures Elbow
Just as we were talking about how fun it's been to watch the Los Angeles Clippers, things went from bad to worse for the Clips on Tuesday as we learned that Eric Gordon will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a small bone fracture in his shooting hand. Gordon, who has been unbelievable this season averaging 24.1 points, 2.0...
Danny Granger Injures Ankle; Eric Gordon (Wrist) Listed as Day-to-Day
In the most forgotten game of the NBA season, Danny Granger sprained his ankle in a losing effort against the Nuggets on Sunday night. Yes, while you were celebrating a Steelers victory or posting harsh criticism about Jay Cutler on your Bears blog, the Pacers and Nuggets were locked in the only NBA game of the evening....

Hornets fans have hope
Source: Daily Comet - Thibodaux LA
Looking for some hope Hornets fans?
Just tune into this season's Western Conference finals.
Two of the NBA's smallest market teams, the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, are playing for the right to go to the NBA finals.
And in my opinion, the winner of this series should be the favorite to win the NBA title.
So why does this matter so much for the Hornets?
San Antonio is the nation's 30th largest market with 2.143 million people and is the seventh-smallest in the NBA in terms of metropolitan population, according to the 2010 U.S. Census.
Oklahoma City is 45th overall with 1.322 million, making it the league's third-smallest media market behind only New Orleans and Memphis.
That means there is hope for small market teams in the NBA.
But I have more good news, the orchestrator of this Thunder team, which is making its second straight Western Conference finals appearance, is the team's general manager Sam Presti, and he is a product of the Spurs organization and is a former protege of current Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.
Do you know who else are products of the Spurs organization?
Hornets senior vice president of basketball operations, general manager Dell Demps and head coach Monty Williams.
Demps played for the Spurs during a portion of his 10-year stint as a pro and spent five years as director of player personnel in San Antonio.
Williams played for the Spurs for three seasons and before his time as an assistant with the Portland Trail Blazers (2005-10) was on the staff of the Spurs when the team won the NBA title in 2004-05.
So Demps and Williams know what it takes to win with a small market team.
Locking up a couple of superstars (like Tim Duncan and Tony Parker or the Spurs and Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook of the Thunder) is a good start.
I feel like the Hornets have one potential star in place in guard Eric Gordon, who only played in a handful of
