Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mujahideen (HSM) (; ', "Mujahideen Youth Movement" or "Movement of Striving Youth"), more commonly known as al-Shabaab (, "The Youth" or "The Boys"), is the Somalia-based cell of the militant Islamist group al-Qaeda, formally recognized in 2012.
