Minor league baseball mascot "Rascal the Raccoon" of the Hudson Valley Renegades hit the streets of Rhinebeck on Wednesday with a homemade love letter for the 30-year-old former first daughter, reading: "Chelsea will u marry me? -- Rascal."
Despite his sports world cred, Rascal doesn't have much of a chance of getting on the exclusive guest list for Saturday's ceremony, which will reportedly draw 400 to 500 VIPs, such as Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand and, of course, proud parents Bill and Hillary Clinton.
In fact, Rascal probably won't get any closer to the ceremony than his team's stadium in nearby Fishkill -- but that's good enough for his single A club.
"We're trying to get a little buzz going for the team, so people come down to the park and check us out," teammate A.J. Tomeny told Sky News.
Even though the entire event has been veiled in secrecy, frenzied journalists have swarmed the tiny town of Rhinebeck, about two hours north of New York City.
With Clinton and her groom, Marc Mezvinsky, 32, scheduled to arrive in Rhinebeck tonight for a rehearsal dinner, the town seems headed for a lockdown.
Security will be tight at the rumored site of the wedding, the Astor Courts estate on the banks of the Hudson River. Police have already confirmed they'll patrol the waters to keep away paparazzi and uninvited guests.
Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration has said it will block off airspace around Rhinebeck for several hours during the celebration.
Even bus service to Rhinebeck is being disrupted, according to New York magazine.
That said, police hope the heavy security, news media presence and A-list guests won't bring the town to a halt.
"Rhinebeck is a small village," state police Sgt. Jim Kranik told the New York Daily News. "A busy village. We plan on keeping traffic moving."
Chelsea Clintons Wedding
Former President Bill Clinton walks his daughter down the aisle at her wedding ceremony on Saturday in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Chelsea Clinton married longtime beau Marc Mezvinsky in an interfaith ceremony at an exclusive estate on the Hudson River.
The bride wore an ivory colored strapless Vera Wang dress with a bejeweled waistband. The pair read aloud a brief love poem, "The Life That I Have," by Leo Marks, the late British codebreaker, according to The Associated Press.
The couple met as teenagers in Washington in 1996, and later attended Stanford together. They now live in New York, where Mezvinsky works at G3 Capital, a Manhattan hedge fund. Clinton recently received a master's degree, her second, in public health at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University.
The couple chose to wed at Astor Courts, an opulent private Beaux-Arts mansion on 50 wooded acres just outside the village of Rhinebeck.

"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family," Bill and Hillary Clinton said in a statement.
